Jeremy Maxwell, D.C.

I grew up in Pleasanton, CA and graduated from Amador Valley High School in 1992. I then attended York College in York, NE on a soccer scholarship to attain my undergraduate studies in pre-chiropractic. It was in York where I met my wife Shelby, who is from Rhinelander, WI. I attended Palmer College of Chiropractic and went on to open my own practice in Fayette, MO from April 2001 through June 2018, and now practice in Columbia, MO since 2005. Shelby and I have four wonderful children: Aiden, Myya, Emilia, and Zechman.

I absolutely love what I have been called to do, and that is to help family's maximize their health potential through Chiropractic and through The Wellness Way. No other profession gets to intimately work with the innate healing potential the Creator placed in each of us like the Chiropractic profession. Every day we get to witness lives changing and health improving by turning on the power of the human body through spinal corrections and removing stressors. When the brain and body can talk without interruption, the Creator's design of continual self healing can be expressed. We look forward to the opportunity of sharing our passion for living full and healthy lives.

My chiropractic story started with my mom. She had been suffering from chronic migraines, and fortunately our neighbor recommended my mom to try their chiropractor. After she found relief from her daily migraines my family began regular maintenance care with an upper cervical chiropractor. When we moved to Salisbury, MO, we continued care with Dr. Jeremy Maxwell.

While I was in high school I made the decision to pursue Chiropractic as a career. I attended undergrad at North Lake College in Irving, TX, and Parker University for chiropractic training. At Parker I received my Bachelor's Degree in Human Anatomy, and in Health and Wellness. In 2017 I graduated with my Doctorate of Chiropractic and then practiced in Salina, KS. In December of 2018 I saw Dr. Jeremy's Ad looking for an associate and I decided it was time to come back home.

I grew up in St. Louis, MO and started seeing a chiropractor at the age of 12. I struggled with horrible migraine headaches and had multiple volleyball injuries. After my first adjustment, I knew I wanted to become a chiropractor. I attended Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, MO where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology, as Master of Nutrition and Physical Performance, and my doctorate in Chiropractic. I also have a teaching certificate in middle and high school science and middle school math.

My passions in chiropractic are women's health, pediatrics, and pregnancy. I obtained a Webster Certification for pregnant women with the International Chiropractic Association and I am working towards my pediatric diplomate. I also plan to become a doula, post-partem depression counselor, and a lactation specialist. I was drawn to the Wellness Way lifestyle due to my own personal experiences. I was diagnosed with Ovarian and Uterine cancer and went through so many worst case scenarios. I want to help other women in my situations work through their worst-case scenarios and help them win their fights naturally and come out on the other side healthier than before. Whether is is with cancer, infertility, or pain, I want to help everyone live their best life and not sit on the sideline.

When I am not in the office, I enjoy time with my daughter, dogs, and playing volleyball.

Making a difference one life at a time

Stress

Here at The Wellness Way Columbia we are dedicated to finding the answers you need. Our approach is centered around one of the major principles of chiropractic care: The Three T's.

Traumas are events both big and small that effect your physical body.

Toxins are external substances that invade your body and compromise the function of key systems.

Thoughts are patterns of beliefs that inform mental and emotional distress both consciously and unconsciously.

Our Philosophy

At The Wellness Way we take illness and disease seriously. Our motto is: Do Health Differently

Once we discover the root cause of your sickness, we love nothing better than to see your symptoms disappear as the cause of your illness is eliminated. No matter what the health problem is, don't surrender to a life of pain and misery until you see us. There is hope!

Our clinics use The Wellness Way approach to assess and treat your health concerns. Perhaps you have experienced being examined by a doctor, having blood tests done, x-rays and other diagnostic tests taken, only for your doctor to report back that all your tests are normal. Yet, you know something is wrong.

Unfortunately, this experience is all too common. Most physicians are trained to look only in specific places for the answers, using some familiar labs or diagnostic tests. Yet, many causes of illness cannot be found in these places. The usual tests do not look for food allergies, hidden infections, environmental toxins, mold exposures, nutritional deficiencies, and metabolic imbalances.

We use a variety of innovative testing techniques and procedures to help our patients prevent illness and recover from many chronic and difficult to treat conditions. Our clinicians are highly skilled in evaluating and assessing chronic problems such as fibromyalgia, fatigue syndromes, autoimmune diseases, inflammatory disorders, mood and behavior disorders, memory problems, heart disease, diabetes, hormonal imbalances, autism, and other chronic complex conditions.
